Associate Professor Ying Zhang is an epidemiologist and educator specializing in climate change and global health at the University of Sydney's Sydney School of Public Health. She holds leadership roles in the MJA-Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change and the China Studies Centre. Her research focuses on community resilience to climate impacts, particularly for vulnerable populations in the Asia-Pacific. She has over 170 publications, including work on temperature-related health risks and policy advocacy. Awards include the ISEE Fellowship and the Tony McMichael Award. Key projects include developing a glossary for climate-health research and studying heat-related disease burdens. She teaches climate change and global health courses and supervises PhD students. Collaborations span institutions in China, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.
