Ying Yao

Ying Yao is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas within the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Oslo. Her research focuses on the intersection of temporal experience, attention, and normativity in philosophical inquiry.

Ying's work investigates how attention structures human experience temporally, revealing its intrinsic and transformative normative potential. She analyzes attention's role in uncovering and reconfiguring moral reasons, while also exploring its unique axiological space across epistemology, ethics, and practical reason.
