Dr. Ying Wang is an Associate Professor of Finance and Director of Research at the Faculty of Business and Law, Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), specializing in Fintech, corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, ESG, and accounting research. She chairs the ISBE Special Interest Group - SMEs and Growth at the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and serves as Director of Economics Division at OBOR International @ Cambridge (Think Tank).
Dr. Wang holds a PhD in Finance, MSc in Finance, and BSc in Economics from Queen's University Belfast and Minzu University of China respectively. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Degree Supervision from the University of Northampton, along with a FinTech Course Certificate from Harvard VPAL.
Her research spans Fintech, innovation, corporate finance, venture capital, financial economics, sustainable finance (ESG), SMEs, corporate governance, and accounting. Dr. Wang has rich experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods and has secured research grants from research councils and industry. Her work demonstrates a strong trend toward examining sustainability issues through the lens of financial technology, with particular focus on how digital financial innovations impact environmental sustainability, green innovation, and banking performance across multiple markets including China and India.
Dr. Wang's publications reveal a clear trajectory toward integrating traditional finance concepts with emerging technologies and sustainability frameworks. Her recent work examines the mediating effects of institutional governance, the psychological impacts of AI on accounting professionals, and the role of governmental venture capital in advancing green innovation using big data approaches.

As a UKCGE Recognised Research Supervisor, Dr. Wang has supervised thirteen PhD/DBA completions and currently supervises both PhD and DBA doctoral students as their first supervisor. She has secured significant research funding including a £67,166 grant from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, multiple industry-funded projects, and internal university fellowships totaling over £90,000. Her consultancy work includes workshops for CEOs and professionals in Finland and Brexit resilience planning for Essex businesses.
Dr. Wang actively contributes to the academic community as a peer reviewer for international journals and conferences, regularly chairs and acts as discussant at major international conferences, and has designed and delivered professional development workshops. Her research has practical applications in sustainable finance, fintech innovation, and corporate governance practices across multiple international contexts.
