Dr Ying Shi Chang is a Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the Sydney Dental School, part of the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health. She holds qualifications including a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka), Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Surgery) from the University of Sydney, and certifications in clinical dentistry and higher education. She is a registered specialist Oral Surgeon with the Dental Board of Australia and holds memberships from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS) and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Her research focuses on Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ), investigating its pathophysiology, clinical management, prevention strategies, and treatment protocols. Current projects emphasize practical applications for improving patient outcomes in this area.
Teaching spans oral surgery and MRONJ across the Doctor of Dental Medicine and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry programs. She has over a decade of experience educating dental students at institutions like Charles Sturt University and the University of Sydney.
