Yiming Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Syracuse University, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on convex geometry, geometric analysis, and partial differential equations, particularly solving Monge-Ampère equations and exploring isoperimetric inequalities. He holds a Ph.D. from New York University (2017) and a B.S. from Shanghai University (2011).
Education: Ph.D., Mathematics, New York University (2017); B.S., Mathematics, Shanghai University (2011).
Research emphasizes geometric PDEs and their applications to Minkowski problems, curvature measures, and convex body reconstructions. His work is supported by NSF grants including the NSF CAREER Award (2024–2029) and a prior grant (2020–2024).
Recent grants include:
- CAREER: Isoperimetric and Minkowski Problems in Convex Geometric Analysis (NSF, 2024–2029)
- Convex Body Shape Recovery via Geometric Measures and Inequalities (NSF, 2021–2024)
He has given over 20 invited talks globally, including at institutions like the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cornell University, and the University of Georgia. Teaching includes courses on real analysis and calculus at both Syracuse University and MIT.
