Yimei Zhu is Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University and Senior Physicist/Group Leader at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He earned his PhD from Nagoya University and completed postdoctoral research at University of Virginia before joining BNL in 1988.
His research examines nanoscale phenomena in quantum materials using advanced electron microscopy techniques. Specific interests include electron correlations, lattice dynamics, and interfacial effects in superconductors, multiferroics, and topological materials. His group develops novel characterization methods including aberration-corrected imaging, ultrafast microscopy, and cryogenic in-situ techniques.
