Dr. Yilmaz Sozer is a Distinguished Professor and Interim Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Akron (UA), listed under part-time faculty. He leads research in power electronics, electric machines, and renewable energy systems, supported by NSF, US Army, DOE, and industry partners. His work includes over 300 publications and 12 awarded patents.
Education: Ph.D. (2000), M.S. (1995) in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; B.S. (1993) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
