Dr. Yigit Oezcelik is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Liverpool Management School and Director of Studies for the BSc Economics Programme since 2015. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) since 2023. His research focuses on the intersection of Industrial Organisation, Behavioural Economics, and Experimental Economics, with emphasis on credence goods markets, online ratings, crowdfunding, and economics pedagogy. He holds a PhD in Economics and Finance from the University of Liverpool (funded by the Economic and Social Research Council), an M.Sc., and B.Sc. from the Technical University of Berlin.
His research groups include the Liverpool Advanced Methods for Big Data Analytics (LAMBDA) Research Centre. Awards include multiple teaching excellence awards from the University of Liverpool and its faculties. He coordinates modules such as Behavioural Economics (ECON251), Behavioural Finance (ECON321), and Mathematical Economics (ECON113). Professional roles include membership in the Royal Economic Society, Economic Science Association, and Northern Economic Network.
