Yesim OGUZ-GOUILLART

Yesim OGUZ-GOUILLART is an Associate Professor at JUNIA's HEI (Hautes Études d'Ingénieur) engineering school in France, where she leads research in the Laboratoire GEMTEX. She heads the Innovative Textile Materials Team, focusing on the development of smart textiles with applications in healthcare and personal comfort.

Her research interests span three primary themes: the development of smart and functional textiles, textile sensors for medical and well-being applications (including monitoring, diagnostic, and treatment), and wearable technology. Her expertise includes the development of textile-based sensors and electrodes, actuator textiles (color change or light-emitting structures), conductive and electromagnetic shielding textiles, and textiles for health applications with emphasis on protection and durability enhancement.

Dr. OGUZ-GOUILLART has been involved in numerous significant research projects including ANR PRCE – POCOMA (2022-2025), COST Action CA17107 – CONTEXT (2018-2023), H2020 – MATUROLIFE (2018-2021), and FP7 – PHOS ISTOS (2013-2018). Her publication record shows consistent output with recent publications in 2024, demonstrating active engagement in her field.

Her teaching responsibilities include courses on weaving processes and woven structures, yarn spinning technologies, textile metrology, testing and quality, technical textiles and nonwovens, and composites practical work. Her research demonstrates a clear trajectory from fundamental textile engineering toward medical and healthcare applications, with particular emphasis on photodynamic therapy using light-emitting textiles.
