Yeqin Liu is a Postdoctoral Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, mentored by Alexander Perry. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2024), advised by Izzet Coskun, and a B.S. from Nanjing University (2019).
Her research focuses on algebraic geometry, with expertise in moduli spaces of sheaves, Bridgeland stability conditions, derived categories, and algebraic stacks. Recent work explores noncommutative geometry and categorical dynamics. She has organized events such as the Midwest Algebraic Geometry Graduate Student Conference and the Derived Category Student Seminar.
Key achievements include the UIC Dean’s Scholar Fellowship (2023) and publications in venues like the International Mathematics Research Notices. She has mentored undergraduate students, including Neelima Borade through the Directed Reading Program, and taught courses ranging from Calculus to Precalculus at UIC and U-M.
