Dr. Yeo Wee Kiang is a Senior Lecturer (Educator Track) in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at the National University of Singapore's School of Computing. He holds a PhD in Machine Learning and Data Mining from NUS (2013) and an MSc from Nanyang Technological University (2006). With industry experience as a Director of Data Science at a food technology startup, he brings practical insights into AI applications for nutritional science.
His research focuses on leveraging technology to enhance computing education through:
- Adaptive Learning systems for personalized instruction pacing
- Large Language Models (LLMs) for educational engagement
- Data Science and Business Analytics methodologies
- Intelligent Systems for pedagogical innovation
Dr. Yeo's publication history reflects an early career focus on computational approaches to pharmaceutical research, including structure-activity relationship modeling, drug discovery informatics, and biomolecular interaction analysis. His current work transitions toward educational technology applications of machine learning.
He leads significant research initiatives including:
- Co-investigator on a Ministry of Education-funded project (2025-2028) using LLMs to enhance nursing students' research competency
- Development of autonomous AI agent swarms for educational and career advisory roles
