Dr Yehia Elkhatib is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the School of Computing and Communications, Lancaster University, and a Visiting Professor at Ecole de Technologie Superieure, Montreal. He leads the Distributed Systems group and co-leads the Data Acquisition & Infrastructure Theme at the Centre of Excellence in Environmental Data Science.

- BSc (2002) in Computer & Systems Engineering, Alexandria University
Research Interests focus on enabling distributed applications to traverse infrastructural boundaries, particularly in cloud computing (interoperability, migration, decision support), intent-driven systems, systems of systems, and network-awareness (protocol evaluation, management strategies). He also explores machine learning integration in networking.
His selected publications highlight trends in cloud brokerage (2019), micro-clouds for fog computing (2017), and network protocol analysis (2014). Key projects include the BBC Prosperity Partnership (2021-2026) and DIONASYS (2014-2018).
Teaching roles include convenor for SCC311 (2016-2020), SCC411 (2018-2020), and SCC460 (2015-2018). He redesigned MSc dissertation marking processes and served as PhD Admissions Tutor (2019-2021).
