Dr. Ye Pu is a Lecturer at the Laboratory of Applied Photonics Devices (LAPD) within the School of Engineering at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Holding a Ph.D. in physics from SUNY Buffalo and an M.S. in physics from Kansas State University, Dr. Pu has been affiliated with EPFL since 2008 after postdoctoral work at Caltech.
- Ph.D., State University of New York at Buffalo (2003)
- M.S., Kansas State University (1999)
Dr. Pu's research focuses on advanced optical techniques for imaging and measurement. Key areas include nonlinear optics for enhanced second-harmonic generation, holographic methods in biomedical imaging and fluid dynamics, and the development of optical velocimetry systems. His work applies photonics to solve practical engineering problems, particularly in microscale and biomedical contexts.
Recent publications highlight Dr. Pu's expertise in optical holography and nanophotonics. His research spans from fundamental studies of light-matter interactions to applied biomedical imaging techniques using harmonic generation. The work often bridges physics principles with engineering applications, reflecting his dual roles in teaching and research at EPFL.
Dr. Pu supervises Ph.D. students including Panusa Giulia and Yang Xin. He contributes to teaching in microengineering, covering topics like advanced microfabrication, additive manufacturing, and optics laboratories. His roles extend to laboratory operations management and scientific research across multiple EPFL departments.
