معرفی
Ye Luo is a Researcher at Argonne National Laboratory's Computational Science department, where he develops advanced simulation methods for materials science on supercomputers. He is one of the lead developers of QMCPACK, an optimized quantum Monte Carlo simulation package, and has contributed to the enhancement of Quantum ESPRESSO for density functional theory applications. His expertise spans Fortran, C/C++, MPI, OpenMP (CPUs and GPUs), and CUDA (GPUs).
Education:
- B.Sc. in Physics, Fudan University, China (2006-2010)
- Ph.D. in Theory and Numerical Simulation of Condensed Matter, Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati, Italy (2010-2014)
His research focuses on enabling challenging atomistic and quantum-mechanics based simulations of materials by designing novel algorithms and optimizing parallelization strategies for large-scale computing environments. This includes both theoretical and numerical approaches in condensed matter physics and high-performance computing.
Scientific Awards:
- 2016 Pacesetter Award
Ye Luo actively participates in the Exascale Computing Project Applications Development for QMCPACK and the Center for Predictive Simulation of Functional Materials, collaborating with the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) Computational Science team since 2014.
