Yat YEN is a Research Fellow specializing in urban studies, public policy, and sustainable development. He holds PhDs from the University of Science and Technology of China (2018) and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan, 2017). His affiliations include the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET) as an Associate Fellow, membership in the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI), and collaboration with organizations like the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Science (CAS-TWAS).
Dr. YEN’s research focuses on public security, urban planning, sustainable mobility, and gender equity. He leads projects funded by UN-Habitat, the World Bank, ADB, JICA, and GIZ, addressing inclusive cities, climate resilience, and rural transport. He advises on the 'Strengthening Urban Resilience in the age of Flux' (SURF) project and reviews for journals like MDPI, Springer, and Plos One.
Key research outputs include analyses of urban green spaces in Phnom Penh, risk factors for substance abuse among Cambodian youth, and water quality management in Pakistan. His work combines interdisciplinary approaches, integrating GIS, socio-economic analysis, and policy development.
