Dr. Yasamin Nazari is an Assistant Professor in Theoretical Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is also affiliated with the Network Institute and serves as a Researcher at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam (2024–2029). Her academic qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University (2016–2021), an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary (2013–2016), and a BSc in Information Technology Engineering from Shiraz University of Technology (2009–2013).
Her research focuses on algorithms, particularly dynamic graph algorithms, approximation algorithms, parallel computation, and graph theory. She has contributed to advancements in areas such as dynamic distance approximation, k-center problems on graphs, and algorithms leveraging predictions for improved performance.
Recent publications highlight her work on fast approximate all-pairs shortest paths, dynamic graph algorithms with predictions, and incremental APSP algorithms. She teaches courses including Networks and Graphs, reflecting her expertise in graph theory and algorithms.
Her academic contributions are peer-reviewed and published in top conferences such as FOCS, STOC, and SODA. She actively collaborates internationally, contributing to the theoretical foundations of computer science.
