Yaroslav Mudryk serves as a Researcher at the Ames Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy and holds an appointment in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University, where he conducts experimental research in materials synthesis and characterization.
His academic credentials include:
- Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry (2002) from Ivan Franko L'viv National University, Ukraine. Dissertation: "Phase relations, crystal structures of compounds and their magnetic and electrical properties in ternary systems {Er,Yb}-{Co,Ni,Cu}-Sn" under advisors Prof. R.V. Skolozdra and Dr. L.P. Romaka.
- M.S./B.S. in Chemistry with distinction (1997) from Ivan Franko L'viv National University, supervised by Prof. R.V. Skolozdra.
Dr. Mudryk's research focuses on structural and physical properties of complex intermetallic systems, particularly rare-earth transition metal compounds. His expertise spans crystallographic analysis of phase relations, magnetic behavior characterization, and electrical property measurements in ternary alloys. Current investigations emphasize the synthesis and property mapping of Er/Yb-Co/Ni/Cu-Sn systems to identify novel materials with tailored functional characteristics.
Based at Ames Laboratory's Spedding Hall facility, he operates within DOE-funded research infrastructure to advance fundamental understanding of inorganic solid-state materials.
