Dr. Yara Almubarak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University's College of Engineering. She earned her Ph.D. (2021), M.S. (2018), and B.S. (2016) in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas.
Her research explores biomimetic robotics and advanced materials, with focus areas including:
- Bio-inspired soft robots for underwater applications
- Artificial muscle development
- Smart material systems
- Additive manufacturing and material analysis techniques
She teaches core engineering courses including ME4500 (Mechanical Engineering Design II) and ME5500 (Advanced Engineering Design), with upcoming special topics courses in mechanical engineering.
