Dr. Yao Zheng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Connecticut's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on high-dimensional time series analysis, econometrics, and statistical machine learning. He currently advises graduate students Shibo Li and Banani Bera, along with undergraduates Uladzimir Charniauski and Isabelle Perez. Awards include an NSF CAREER grant and Makuch Faculty Fellowship. His recent work involves interpretable vector autoregressive models and tensor-based time series analysis.
Publications emphasize scalable methods for high-dimensional data and quantile regression. Trends show integration of machine learning with traditional statistical approaches.
