Yannis Ieropoulos

Professor Yannis Ieropoulos, Head of the Water and Environmental Engineering Group (WEEG) at the University of Southampton, is a leading figure in bioelectrochemical systems and environmental engineering. With over 20 years of experience, his work focuses on waste-to-energy technologies, particularly microbial fuel cells (MFCs), which power autonomous biosystems like the EcoBot family of robots and the Pee Power® urinal system.
