Yannick Privat is a Professor at the University of Lorraine, affiliated with the Nancy School of Mines (École des Mines de Nancy) and the Élie Cartan Institute of Lorraine (IECL). He is a member of the INRIA Sphinx project team and a Junior Member of the University Institute of France (2021-2026). His research focuses on shape and topology optimization, control of partial differential equations (PDEs), and applications of mathematics to biology. He has supervised numerous doctoral and postdoctoral researchers on topics ranging from quantum computing to epidemiological modeling.
