Yanlu Zhao is an Associate Professor in Operations Management at Durham University Business School. His research focuses on data-driven service operations and supply chain management, with applications in network optimization, Markov decision processes, dynamic programming, and machine learning. He holds a doctoral degree from ESSEC Business School and a master's from Tsinghua University. In 2024, he is on research leave at Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies. He has received the ESSEC Foundation PhD Award (2019) and regularly presents at international conferences.
