Yan Rybalko

Yan Rybalko is a Research Fellow at the Department of Mathematics, University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His research focuses on soliton and peakon nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), modeling phenomena in fluid/lattice dynamics, nonlinear optics, and quantum field theory. He investigates solutions' qualitative properties, long-time asymptotic behavior, existence, uniqueness, and blow-up questions for these systems.

Recent contributions include studies on well-posedness of Cauchy problems for two-component peakon systems and nonlocal FORQ equations. Rybalko is part of the 'Nonlocal integrable equations: blow-up phenomena and beyond' research project and the Computational Mathematics group. His work bridges theoretical analysis with computational approaches in mathematical physics.
