معرفی
Yan Li is an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering. Her research focuses on multiscale modeling, fracture mechanics, and advanced materials design, with collaborations spanning academia and industry (e.g., Boeing, GE). She leads the Yan Li Group, which develops metamaterials and smart materials for energy harvesting, aerospace, and biomedical applications. Li holds a PhD from Georgia Tech and has received awards including the ASME Early Career Award (2020).
Education: BS (Yanshan University, 2006), MS (Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 2009), PhD (Georgia Tech, 2014). Her lab is located at Rm B02, MacLean ESC. Courses taught include ENGS 33 (Solid Mechanics) and ENGG 230 (Fatigue and Fracture).
- Research Interests: Data-driven material design, process-microstructure-property relationships, additive manufacturing, metamaterials.
- Funding: Supported by NASA, US Army Research Lab, NSF, and industry partners.
- Lab Members: Active recruitment of postdocs, graduate/undergraduate students via opportunities listed on her group website.
Recent achievements include developing high-temperature piezoelectric composites (2025) and metastructure-based energy harvesters (2024). Her work bridges computational modeling with experimental validation, emphasizing practical applications in aerospace and sustainable energy.
