Dr. Yan Bing Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Kansas. Her research focuses on intergroup and intercultural communication, exploring how communication processes interact with relationships, social cognition, culture, and identity in both face-to-face and mediated contexts. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas.
Her academic contributions include studies on intergroup attitudes, intercultural adaptation, and intergenerational communication. Notable awards include the 2007 William T. Kemper Fellowship for Teaching Excellence and the 2021 Giles-Nussbaum Distinguished Scholar Award from the National Communication Association.
