Dr. Yaguo Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, holding the Temple Foundation Endowed Faculty Fellowship and Robert & Jane Mitchell Endowed Faculty Fellowship. Her research focuses on ultrafast carrier dynamics and micro/nano-scale heat transfer in nanomaterials.
- Education:
- B.S. in Fire Safety Science & Engineering, University of Science and Technology of China (2005)
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University (2011)
Dr. Wang's research addresses fundamental problems across thermoelectrics, photovoltaics, gas fuel generation, and quantum-cascade lasers. Her group developed ultrafast time-resolved spectrometers capable of femtosecond-to-picosecond scale observations.
Her scientific contributions span ultrafast optical spectroscopy, nanoscale heat transfer characterization, and molecular dynamics simulations of atomic-level carrier transport. Key research areas include clean energy technology, thermal fluids systems, and complex systems.
- Scientific Awards:
- NSF CAREER Award (2014)
- Best Paper Award, ASME Heat Transfer Division (2015)
- Guo-Mo-Ruo Scholarship (2005)
- Temple Foundation Fellowship
- Robert & Jane Mitchell Fellowship
- ASEE Teaching Fellowship (2018)
- NCFDD Faculty Success Program (2018)
- Diversity Mentoring Fellowship (2015-2016)
The Wang Research Group specializes in advanced optical spectroscopy techniques and atomic-scale carrier transport studies.
