Yader Lanuza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He holds affiliations with the Broom Center for Demography and the UCSB Migration Initiative. His research examines social inequality in education, family structures, and criminal justice systems, focusing on Latin American and Asian immigrant communities. He earned his Ph.D. from UC Irvine.
His research interests center on mechanisms of social stratification through quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Current projects investigate racial disparities in educational outcomes and the impact of immigration policies on family dynamics.
Recent publications explore wealth transmission across generations, demonstrating methodological innovation in analyzing large-scale economic datasets. His work appears in leading journals including American Sociological Review and Social Problems.
