Ya-Fei Chuang is a University Professor of Piano at Mozarteum University in Salzburg, specializing in keyboard performance with a focus on classical and contemporary repertoire. She holds a prominent position in the Department of Keyboard and is renowned for her mastery of both modern piano and historical instruments like the fortepiano. Her career spans international performances with leading orchestras and ensembles, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Academy of Ancient Music, and Philharmonia Baroque.
Education includes studies at the Freiburg Conservatory (with Rosa Sabater and Robert Levin), Cologne Conservatory (with Pavel Gililov), and New England Conservatory. She has premiered works by composers such as John Harbison and Yehudi Wyner and has recorded for labels like ECM and Naxos.
Teaching roles include visiting professorships at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee, alongside annual master classes at Mozarteum’s International Summer Academy.
