YILTAN BİTİRİM

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yıltan Bitirim is an academic faculty member at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in the Department of Computer Engineering within the School of Computing and Technology. He serves as Deputy Head of Department and Vice Chair, contributing to administrative and academic leadership.

• PhD in Computer Engineering (2003), MS (1999), and BS (1997) from EMU.

His research focuses on machine learning, human-computer interaction, smart systems, and software engineering, with applications in healthcare, education, and emergency notification systems. He has supervised numerous PhD and Master’s theses addressing interdisciplinary challenges, including hydroponic education systems and diabetic patient tracking.

Recent scientific contributions align with smart emergency systems, online automation tools, and language-specific emoji recommendation systems. His work emphasizes practical solutions for local and global technological needs.

He mentors a diverse cohort of graduate students, including Felix Olaniwaju Babalola (PhD), Mahmut Sevince (ongoing PhD), and others who have completed theses on topics like hand-vein recognition, game-based learning, and web search engine analysis.
