Xuwei Xu is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, affiliated with the Centre since February 2025. His research focuses on improving the efficiency-performance trade-off in neural networks and vision transformers, including token reduction techniques and knowledge distillation methods.
His work contributes to deploying high-performance deep learning models on edge devices. He collaborates with Associate Professor Sen Wang, Professor Shazia Sadiq, and Queensland Health to advance the CIRES research agenda.
