Xuegeng Yang

Dr. Xuegeng Yang serves as Head of the Electrochemical Systems group at the Fluid Dynamics Institute of Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). His research focuses on investigating multi-scale transport phenomena in electrochemical processes and bridging fundamental research with industrial applications.

His primary research areas include:

• Water electrolysis for green hydrogen production
• Single bubble dynamics during electrolysis
• Bubble behavior under microgravity conditions
• New-concept electrolyzer design
• Electrode performance and degradation testing
• Innovative in-situ experimental techniques
• Electrode surface functionalization

Dr. Yang's work addresses critical challenges in sustainable energy technologies, particularly in optimizing hydrogen production efficiency through advanced understanding of electrochemical processes and bubble management.
