Xuefeng Wei is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The College of New Jersey. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University in 2009. His research focuses on neural engineering, neural prosthetics, and computational neuroscience, with specialized expertise in deep brain stimulation technologies and neural interface design.
Research Focus: Dr. Wei's work bridges computational neuroscience and biomedical device innovation. Key areas include:
- Development of novel electrode geometries to minimize tissue damage during neural stimulation
- High-frequency stimulation paradigms for neural modulation and desynchronization
- Computational modeling of sodium channel dynamics and axonal block mechanisms
