Dr. Xue Qin Yu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney. His research focuses on cancer epidemiology, statistical modeling, and health services research, with an emphasis on cancer disparities and socioeconomic determinants of health outcomes. Dr. Yu is affiliated with the Daffodil Centre and the Research Methods Stream within the faculty.
His research investigates regional variation in cancer survival, cancer care system evaluation, and the social determinants influencing health equity. He has contributed to studies on lung cancer among never-smokers, prostate cancer disparities, and cancer screening effectiveness in China and Australia.
Dr. Yu has published extensively since 2003, with over 100 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as LANCET Public Health, Cancer Epidemiology, and Nature Cancer. His work bridges epidemiological analysis and policy implications, addressing global health challenges in cancer control.
He currently advises Sohel RANA on a project exploring breast cancer incidence trends across generations. Dr. Yu’s expertise also extends to statistical methods for estimating cancer cure patterns and projecting cancer-related health service needs.
Key collaborations include the Daffodil Centre and international teams in China, Australia, and the US. His research aims to improve cancer care equity and inform evidence-based health policy.
