Xudong Jing

Dr. Xudong Jing FREng is a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London's Department of Earth Science & Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. He holds over 30 years of global expertise in energy technology innovation, field development, and CO2 geological storage (CCS/CCUS). His academic career includes roles as a Lecturer (1994–1999) and Reader (1999–2003) at Imperial College before transitioning to industry leadership. He currently serves as Vice President of Subsurface Excellence at ADNOC Group and leads Shell's Global IOR/EOR/CCS initiatives.

Dr. Jing specializes in reservoir engineering, carbon sequestration, and unconventional resource development. His research focuses on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery while mitigating emissions, leveraging advanced core analysis, pore-scale modeling, and reservoir simulation techniques. He has pioneered methodologies for evaluating heavy oil projects and improving sweep efficiency in layered carbonate reservoirs.
