Xin Hu is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. She previously served as an Assistant Professor at Nanjing Tech University from 2014 to 2018.
- Education:
- Bachelor's and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University (2009, 2014).
Research Interests:
- Functionalization of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) for composite materials.
- Reversible-deactivated radical polymerization (RDRP) and ring-opening polymerization (ROP).
- Development of advanced battery materials, including lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and potassium-ion systems.
- Nanomaterial synthesis and electrochemical characterization for energy storage.
Recent Publications (2018–2022): Focus on battery technologies (lithium-sulfur, solid-state, potassium-ion), novel electrode materials (silicon, phosphorus, carbon composites), and eco-friendly water treatment systems using capacitive deionization. Key themes include nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and sustainable energy solutions.
