Dr. Xin Chen serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences at Campbell University's College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in Buies Creek, North Carolina. She previously held faculty positions at the Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy and conducted research at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, Purdue University College of Pharmacy, and the University of North Carolina's Pharmacology department. Her expertise spans synthetic chemistry, drug development processes, and medicinal chemistry strategies.
Dr. Chen earned her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her career includes over 20 years of drug discovery experience, leading to multiple drug candidates in anticancer, epigenetics, antiviral, and neuroscience domains.
Her current research focuses on: 1) Developing dual-activity compounds activating Nrf2 signaling while inhibiting glutaminase for cancer pain management; 2) Creating chemical probes for kinase and epigenetic modulator profiling in cancer cells to advance precision medicine. She specializes in SAR studies, lead optimization, and analytical techniques.
