Xiaoqing Eleanor Xu is a Professor of Finance at Seton Hall University's Stilman School of Business, leading the Department of Finance. She specializes in Investment Analysis, Fixed Income Analysis, and Alternative Investments with a focus on Cryptocurrency, ETFs, and Risk Management. Dr. Xu directs SHU’s CFA university affiliation programs and co-directs the Master of Financial Technology and Analytics (MFTA) program. She previously chaired the Department of Finance (2008-2010) and held roles at Saint Louis University.
Education: PhD in Finance from Syracuse University (1998), MBA from Indiana State University (1994), and BA in Economics from Sun Yat-Sen University (1992).
Research spans cryptocurrency ETFs, fixed-income markets, leveraged ETF performance, and emerging market dynamics. Her work has been cited by major financial outlets like the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg. Awards include the 2025 Faculty Award for Excellence in Graduate Program Development and 2024 Research Achievement Award.
Teaching includes courses on Investment Analysis, Fixed Income, and Market Microstructure. Notable grants include a 2006 award from the Real Estate Research Institute.
