معرفی
Xiaolin Li is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Stony Brook University, holding a Ph.D. in Computational Applied Mathematics from Columbia University (1987).
His research focuses on:
- Design and implementation of high-resolution numerical methods, particularly the front tracking method
- Study of fluid interface instabilities including Rayleigh-Taylor and Richtmyer-Meshkov instabilities
- Collaborations with scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and Brookhaven National Laboratory
His work has significant applications in inertial confinement fusion and fuel injection nozzle research. Professor Li maintains his office in Math Tower 1-122 and can be reached at 631-632-8354. His research bridges theoretical mathematics with practical engineering applications through sophisticated computational modeling techniques.
