Xiaolang Zhang

Dr. Xiaolang Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Florida Atlantic University. His research focuses on hydrogeology, hydro-geochemistry, and groundwater numerical modeling, particularly in surface water-groundwater interactions and coastal systems.

• Education: Postdoc (2023) at Ohio State University, PhD (2021) in Hydrogeology from the University of Hong Kong, BS (2016) in Hydrogeology from China University of Geosciences.
• Research Interests: Seawater-groundwater interactions, nutrient cycling, numerical modeling, and isotope hydrology in coastal and desert environments.

His recent peer-reviewed work (2025-2023) examines submarine groundwater discharge impacts on nutrient fluxes in China's Bohai Sea, fractal aquifer behavior, and advanced sensor development. Current advisees include PhD students Rakib Howlader and Marjena Beantha Haque.
