Xiao Hu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo, specializing in database theory and nanofabrication. His research focuses on fundamental database systems, parallel query processing, and advanced nanomaterial fabrication techniques. He holds a BE from Tsinghua University (2014) and a Ph.D. from HKUST (2019).
Research Interests: Database theory, massively parallel query systems, dynamic query optimization, oblivious processing frameworks, nanoscale semiconductor fabrication, plasma etching processes, and extreme ultraviolet lithography applications.
Publications span nanostructure fabrication methods (e.g., silicon nanocone arrays, cryogenic etching), advanced sensor technologies (e.g., gold interdigitated biosensors), and semiconductor material analysis (e.g., GaN/perovskite interfaces). His work addresses challenges in high-precision nanofabrication and optoelectronic device performance optimization.
