Dr. Xiang Xu serves as a Visiting Instructor in the Department of History within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi. He teaches HST 130 (Intro to US History to 1877) and HST 131 (Intro to US History Since 1877) from his office in 310 Bishop Hall.
His educational background includes:
- M.A. in Southern Studies, University of Mississippi (2012)
- Ph.D. in History, University of Mississippi (2023)
Dr. Xu specializes in 18th- and 19th-century United States history, intellectual history, conservatism, and the American Founding. His doctoral dissertation, "The Champion of 'The Permanent Things:' The Imaginative Conservatism of Russell Kirk, Robert Nisbet, and Richard Weaver," examines the intellectual foundations of American conservative thought through key 20th-century thinkers.
