Xenia Miller

Dr. Xenia Miller is a Researcher at the Historical Seminar of the Faculty of Philosophy, Leibniz University Hannover. Since 2023, she has led the DFG-funded project Taxpayers, Households, Streets, analyzing medieval urban society in Mühlhausen through spatial organization and social networks.

Her work focuses on medieval urban documents, taxation systems, and pragmatic literacy. By correlating 15th-century records with archaeological data, she examines how social relationships and civic status are embedded in urban topography.

Her publications include studies on medieval accounting practices and gift-giving, with a 2024 monograph on negotiated literacy. She has presented at major conferences like the German Historians’ Day and regional history colloquia.
