Professor Xenia Matschke holds the Chair of International Economic Policy at the University of Trier's Faculty of Economics (Faculty IV). She serves in multiple administrative capacities including Deputy member of the Senate Budget Committee, Chair of the Examination Board for the Master's program IEPP (International Economics & Public Policy), and Coordinator for double Master's degree programs with universities in Bergamo and Warsaw.
Professor Matschke's research focuses on international economic policy with particular expertise in trade agreements, economic integration, and the political economy of trade. Her recent work has examined the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, analyzing behavioral changes, stock market reactions, and long-term societal shifts. She employs both theoretical modeling and empirical analysis to investigate how political institutions shape economic policy outcomes.
