Xeni Dassiou is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Economics, City, University of London. She is a founding member and director of the Centre for Competition and Regulatory Policy (CCRP) since 2008 and serves as an Academic Panel Member of Ofgem (UK energy regulator) since 2017. Over 30 years of teaching and consultancy experience span microeconomics, industrial economics, and regulatory frameworks.

Research Interests focus on the intersection of competition policy, regulatory economics, and industrial organization, with recent work analyzing market power dynamics in fintech-bank competition, exchange rate exposure in international markets, and trust modeling in infrastructure contracts. She has published extensively on bundling as price discrimination and behavioral economics applications to regulatory challenges.
Academic Engagement includes organizing over 45 conferences as CCRP director and collaborating with institutions like the National Audit Office, Competition and Markets Authority, and BBC Trust. Her consulting clients include British Gas (Centrica) and SINOPEC.
