Xena Welch Guerra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She holds a PhD from the University of St.Gallen and has held visiting and teaching positions at INSEAD Singapore, University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and University of Warwick Business School.
Her research focuses on Corporate and Behavioral Strategy, with a strong emphasis on Mergers and Acquisitions. Key research themes include the pre-deal phase of M&A, value creation, serial acquisitions, and international expansion. Her work integrates behavioral insights with strategic decision-making in corporate contexts.
Her recent publications highlight a consistent focus on M&A processes, from target selection to value realization. These works span both academic journals and practitioner-oriented reports, often in collaboration with leading institutions and firms such as Deloitte.
