Xavier Rabasso

Xavier Rabasso is a Lecturer HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) at the University of Rouen Normandy, affiliated with the Équipe de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Amériques et la Caraïbe (ERIAC). He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Toronto (1994) and completed his Habilitation under Prof. Valeriu Kanev at Rouen (2009). His academic roles span teaching in the Department of Romance Studies and Applied Foreign Languages, focusing on visual arts, intercultural management, and cultural history.

His research integrates transcultural studies, cinema adaptation analysis, and Latin American cultural critique. Key areas include transnational art dialogues (e.g., Wifredo Lam’s paintings and cinema), postcolonial narratives, and critical management theory. Recent work explores eroticism in Latin American cinema and Cuban cultural identity through film and visual arts.

Publications include co-authored texts on intercultural management (2014) and edited volumes on Latin American literature and transcultural analysis (2013). His teaching covers visual arts, Catalan civilization, and negotiation psychology in transcultural business contexts.

Rabasso actively contributes to ERIAC’s research axes on spatial politics, cultural interpretations, and philosophy. He coordinates international collaborations through networks like the Rouen Ethnolinguistics Project and participates in conferences addressing transcultural and critical thought.
