Professor Xavier Mulet is the Director of the Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Fabrication Enabling Impact Platform at RMIT University's Research & Innovation Capability department. He leads projects focused on advanced materials for energy and environmental applications, including carbon capture, solar panel recycling, and waste heat energy conversion. His research addresses critical global challenges through innovative material science solutions.
Research Interests: Macromolecular and Materials Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Physical Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Sustainable Chemistry. His work integrates cutting-edge materials design with real-world applications, emphasizing environmental sustainability and industrial impact.
Advising & Collaboration: Supervises research projects such as Direct Air Capture of CO₂, Ambient Energy Harvesting, and Silver Recovery from Solar Panels. Collaborates with industry and academic partners to translate research into practical solutions. Active in supervising PhD and Master's students in materials science and environmental engineering.
Labs & Teams: Oversees multidisciplinary teams within the Enabling Impact Platform, fostering innovation in advanced materials and manufacturing. Engages in global partnerships to advance sustainable technologies and environmental stewardship.
