معرفی
Wuliang Yin is a Reader in Electromagnetic Sensing and Instrumentation at the University of Manchester's School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. His research focuses on measurement systems, electromagnetic induction, eddy currents, tomographic imaging, and non-destructive testing. He leads projects funded by EPSRC and the EU, including advancements in metal detector design and robotic inspection systems. Yin has over 400 publications and 20 patents, with notable awards such as the IEEE Instrumentation Society Best Application Award (2021) and Williams Awards (2014-2015).
Current research interests include sensor-driven robotics, energy harvesting, and FPGA-based signal processing. He supervises 8 PhD students and 2 PDRAs, with former team members at institutions like Zhejiang University and Oxford. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in advancing Digital Futures for industrial safety and efficiency.
Key projects include the TSB-funded metal detector optimization (2014-2016), EPSRC-supported electromagnetic tensor imaging (2015-2018), and collaborations on robotic NDT systems like the FPGA-based EddyBot. Awards also include the 2000 Agilent Measurement Forum Excellent Paper Award and China’s National Scientific and Technical Progress Award (1999).
