Wouter Richard Karthaus

Wouter Richard Karthaus is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Life Sciences (SV) and the Interfaculty Institute of Biochemistry (ISREC). He holds multiple roles across EPFL units, including teaching in the SSV-ENS and SV-DEC divisions, and serves on the School Council SV and the PhD program committee for Molecular Life Sciences. His research focuses on molecular biology, stem cell biology, and organoid technology, with direct supervision of four PhD students. He teaches courses such as Cellular and Molecular Biology II, Stem Cells and Organoids, and oversees the Karthaus Lab Practical.

His academic positions include roles in the SV-SSV education unit and the EDMS doctoral program. The Karthaus Lab serves as a central hub for experimental work in his research areas.
