Wolfgang Messner

Wolfgang Messner is a Clinical Professor at the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business, with a PhD in Economics (University of Kassel), MBA (University of Wales), and MSc/BSc in Informatics & Economics (Technical University Munich). His international career spans academia (MYRA School of Business, IIMs) and industry (Capgemini, BMW, Deutsche Bank).

Research focuses on measuring cultural heterogeneity using machine learning, cross-cultural consumer behavior, and COVID-19 socioeconomic impacts. He teaches management consulting, data analytics, and intercultural team management, directing experiential projects with UPS, Positec, and SC Small Business Development Centers. Awards include Emerald Literati Awards and the Moore School Research Award.

His publications in Journal of World Business, Journal of International Marketing, and PLoS ONE develop novel methods for cultural measurement and analyze pandemic-related behaviors across societies.
